Meet Emily: A Passionate Baker Crafting Sweet Memories
I have dedicated my entire professional career to the food and beverage industry. Initially starting in the front of house as a hostess and server, my true passion for baking emerged early on. Crafting cakes for friends and neighbors quickly evolved into a small business venture prior to my college pursuits.
My academic journey led me to Johnson & Wales University-Charlotte, where I pursued an Associate’s degree in Baking & Pastry followed by a Bachelor's degree in Food & Beverage Management, graduating in May 2024. During my time at university, I completed an internship opportunity at Walt Disney World, honing my skills in the Banquet Event Operations kitchen amidst their vast menu offerings.
Post-internship, I assumed the role of Pastry Chef at Ballantyne Country Club, overseeing both banquet and a la carte pastry production of a club with more than 900 families. This position has also afforded me the opportunity to delve into culinary operations and assist on the line when necessary. Eager to enrich my expertise in team leadership and further enhance my pastry techniques, I am actively seeking new challenges to augment my professional repertoire.
